TalentOS

How do we create a product for recruiters that helps them find and connect with the right candidates?

I was hired to Zoominfo as the first person on the TalentOS team to design a new product that would allow recruiters to find and communicate with candidates.

I started the process by immersing myself into who recruiters are.  I conducted interviews with recruiters that fulfilled a wide variety of recruitment roles.

  • How do they like to work?

  • What tools do they use?  What competitor tools are out there?

  • What challenges do they face?

  • Are there different types of recruiters?  What are the differences?

I then spent time using different recruitment tools such as LinkedIn, Greenhouse, iCIMS, and Indeed.  From there, I dived right into concepting.  Working closely with the product team to identify requirements.

The Concepts.

The Design.

TalentOS was created with an advanced search and filtering functionality that assists users in finding criteria that meet their requirements.

Recruiters were able to efficiently review extensive candidate lists and conveniently interact with the top candidates through the application, thanks to the table format.

Extensive research was conducted on the search experience during the initial design phase.  This research became the foundation for the design.

Search & Filtering

Recruiters can easily get overwhelmed with the abundance of data available to them, making it crucial to present and organize the right criteria in a sensible manner.

Many of the Recruiters I spoke with simply wanted an easy way to search, the ability to re-use the most successful search criteria, help organizing lists of potential candidates, and an easy way to conduct outreach.

To address this, TalentOS was designed with a robust and scalable taxonomy that allows users to refine, save, and reuse successful search criteria.

The design underwent rigorous testing to ensure that users could quickly and easily perform this task, with Advanced Search providing access to additional powerful and unique search criteria.
